These studies direct attention to our theology & practice, namely to both announcing and demonstrating the kingdom of God. Our emphasis as leaders will be on the demonstrating aspect of ministry. This curriculum will look to prepare us toward engaging in ministry with those around us through Vineyard’s understanding of the Kingdom of God.
There are a number of scholarly published works and resources on theology & practice of the Vineyard movement. For our interest, much of the material is reflective on Vineyard Theologian Derek Morphew’s work ‘Demonstrating the Kingdom’. There are many layers to comprehensively understanding the kingdom theology, as well as the practicing of it. We are hopeful that through this introduction, you would begin a lifelong journey of ushering in God’s kingdom in your life and the surrounding community.
Our central focus – rooted firmly in our secure identity as people of Christ, we participate in the coming of God’s Kingdom by the presence & power of the Holy Spirit through spiritual gifts, particularly the gifts that enable mission and evangelism.
