Tips and Best Practices

Online Small Groups at Vineyard Columbus

GROW TOGETHER IN COMMUNITY

Small groups are a place of connection at Vineyard Columbus. They help a big church feel small. During this time, many are looking for a place to process our fear and find hope. We believe one of the best ways to weather this pandemic is to stay connected to one another – even if the connection is made digitally. We are encouraging every group to continue meeting through online platforms such as Skype, Zoom, Google Hangouts, and others.

CONNECTING DURING COVID-19

  • Shorten your time if needed. If you used to start at 7:00pm, try starting at 7:30pm and end before 9:00pm.
  • Split by gender – It helps to create space to catch up and pray for each other if you’re in a co-ed group.
  • Schedule a leader(s) meeting. These can be difficult to do in person, but meeting with emerging leaders over an online platform (especially during quarantine) may be easier.
  • If you have a tech-savvy group member, try using tools like a shared google document, Menti, or a PowerPoint presentation when reading a passage together.
