The Sermon on the Mount

The Sermon on the Mount is the most significant sermon ever preached. In this upcoming sermon series we will be looking at the different ways people think about what it means to be a Christian. Some see the Sermon on the Mount as impossible ideals, and transformation that isn’t even possible; it can feel like something that is out of reach. However, it paints a picture of what human life and human community can look like when they come under the gracious rule of God.

Upside Down Kingdom – Sermon Series Recommendations

Summer is typically a time of celebration and connection. Celebrate all that God has done over the past year. Throw a party. Host your neighbors. While the sermon series goes for 9 weeks, we want you to feel the freedom to take breaks and connect with those that call your group home.

To further explore the Sermon on the Mount, we’ve selected two resources we hope will encourage you in the leadership of your small group over the summer months. Click the images above to explore these resources.

  1. First, Sheridan Voysey has a six-part video series that covers the key themes of this famous sermon. This is a great series for newer believers or people with limited experience with the bible. This series is available for free through our partnership with RightNow Media.
  2. Second, we recommend the classic The Message of the Sermon on the Mount by John Stott. The end of the commentary includes a seven-session guide complete with questions for discussion and reflection. Pick up a copy in our bookstore!
