November Service Opportunities

Hello, Leaders! Here are some special service opportunities for your groups in the month of October. Blessings.

1. The Salvation Army is currently looking for volunteers to Ring the Bell at a Red Kettle. This is an excellent opportunity to serve as a group and collect donations for those in need. If you or your group is available between November 16 and December 24, Mondays through Saturdays between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm, you can sign up to volunteer here:

2.The Zone is looking for Reading Buddies!  That’s right!  With just a small walk across the building, you will be able to invest in the life of a young person through reading together.  We have a lot of children in grades K-3 who would benefit greatly from time spent reading with an adult.  Depending on the reading level of the child, you may do the reading, you may share the reading together, or your buddy will read to you!

What’s required?

  • 20-30 minutes once a week to spend with a super cute kid (Reading Buddy time is anytime between 4:00-5:30p)
  • A book (supplied by us!)

If you’re interested, please email

3. Could your small group fill a backpack for a person living on the land? This is an outreach to our homeless camps. We are in need of 75 backpacks total (65 for men and 10 for women).
